Microsoft had announced a new button in the new generation personal computers they intend to manufacture, called the “Copilot key,” designed to activate the company’s AI chatbot. The button, marked with the Copilot logo, will be strategically located near the space bar, most likely to replace the right CTRL key or the menu key on some computers. Partnering with OpenAI in this project. Microsoft seems to signal a competitive trend among tech companies focusing on AI applications.
Although the company will announce the specific computer manufacturers adopting the Copilot button beyond Microsoft’s own in-house line of premium Surface devices later, the rumours say that we may encounter their new models next week at the upcoming CES2024 gadget show in Las Vegas.
